Welcome to Shoal Creek Adventist School, a Christ-centered learning community located at 171 Gordon Road in Newnan, Georgia. Surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the countryside, yet within driving distance from Atlanta, our school provides a nurturing and inspiring environment for students in grades K–8. Shoal Creek Adventist School is a ministry of the Peachtree Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is part of the global Seventh-day Adventist education system, which comprises over 1,000 schools and more than 10,500 dedicated educators worldwide.
We are a Christian school. Our curriculum will provide your child with an education through a well-rounded, Christian worldview that is Bible-based. The principles of the Adventist education system, which is the second largest parochial system in the world, are to seek to develop a life of faith in God and respect for the dignity of all human beings; to build character akin to that of the Creator; to nurture thinkers rather than mere reflectors of others’ thoughts; to promote loving service rather than selfish ambition; to ensure maximum development of each individual’s potential; and to embrace all that is true, good, and beautiful.
Our kids are successful. We believe that children are successful when given the time and space to grow in a calm, meaningful way. At Shoal Creek, Jesus is the foundation of everything we teach—integrated into every subject, every experience, and every moment. If you're looking for a safe, values-based alternative to the world’s ever-changing messages, Shoal Creek may be the right fit for your family. With a focus on the balanced development of the whole child and small class sizes with a low student-to-teacher ratio, our intentionally multi-grade classrooms allow both older and younger students to thrive through collaborative and personalized learning. Students with an Adventist education outperform the national average in testing, problem-solving, and critical thinking, and 90 percent not only get into college but also graduate.
We are a family. Part of what makes Shoal Creek so special and successful is that we believe in family. We nurture relationships among our teachers, students, parents, caregivers, siblings, and the broader community. Ask any Shoal Creek parent, and they’ll tell you they always feel they’re part of our family. And you don’t have to be an Adventist to be part of the Shoal Creek family. If you're looking for a safe, faith-driven alternative to the world’s ever-changing messages, Shoal Creek may be the right fit for your family.
Our students have fun and give back to the community. Yes, we have an excellent academic program, but we don’t forget that the children need to be children. Part of what makes our approach successful is that we recognize the importance of providing children with opportunities to use their imagination, engage in play, and be creative and physically active. Our curriculum includes ample time for play, art, outdoor learning, and other creative outlets. Our music program has an excellent reputation, offering individual and group lessons. We have a state-of-the-art gym that’s open to the community. We also host numerous events throughout the year, including concerts, festivals, fundraisers, and community outreach activities, some of which are staffed or even organized by the children.
We are affordable. The mission of Shoal Creek Adventist School, like our faith, is to serve others. If you want your child to benefit from a quality Christian education, Shoal Creek offers affordable tuition that keeps your budget in mind.
